bah-summerbug

My friend Tianna and I were discussing our disdain for nearly all summer clothing, except for seersucker and the ocasional linen, or maybea really great pair of sandals (that neither of us can afford to buy).
Do you think we just don't like it because it's linked with such a long break from our routine? I, for one, am more than ready to get back into school, and radiators, and cooking, and normal life in Oregon that doesn't require everything to be chilled or on ice for comfort. Summer is HAWT. And LONG. And really, think about it: a great many of the best writers were from England, where I have personally witnessed a distinct lack of summer. . .
What's so bad about walking in the rain and wooly jumpers?
When it's hot you can't enjoy tea, it's too warm.
You can't smell nice, you have to wear sunscreen.
You can't go on vacation, everywhere is too darn busy or too stinkin' hot.
If there were a scrooge for summer, it would be me at this moment.

Bah-Summerbug.

Amen, sister!

Summer is a no-happy time for me. I'm just really not into it. Give me the wind, give me the rain and fog. Give me a cold and runny nose over the hot, sweaty, dry, busy summer any day.

;)

I miss you.

I think Andie and I have more in common than I knew. I was about to utter that very same "Amen, sister!" and instead found myself reading a comment that I could have posted myself.

Bring back the "bad" weather.
