college is dumb cookies

Yep, that's right. Ti and I were baking at midnight and needed a good cookie recipe, so we looked one up online. I found it unsatisfactory, so I made up my own, loosley based on the one we found. . .and this is waht evolved. They're fluffy, but chewy, greasy, yet light, and the oatmeal adds a desireable texture not typically found in the typical chocolate chip cookie. Bon Appetit!

Ingredients:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1 tablespoon vanilla
1/2 cup milk

1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup 1 minute oatmeal (uncooked)
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. baking powder

2 cups chocolate chips

Directions:
1. Combine both sugars, butter, egg, vanilla, and milk in a medium sized mixing bowl. Set aside.

2. Combine remaining ingredients (excluding chocolate chips) in large mixing bowl. Add in sugar mixture. After theses are well combined, stir in the chocolate chips.

3. Plop, and I mean plop, dough balls onto a lightly greased baking sheet. The blobs should be a heaping tablespoon, or bigger. Because of their fluffy nature, you can get away with making them quite large without risking undercooking. Also, the organic shape of blobs when baked lends itself nicely to the college theme, but if you insist on perfectly round cookies, you may roll them.

4. Bake cookies in a 375 degree (F) oven for 12-15 minutes, or until just golden around the edges. They will look pale, but will be quite frim to the touch. Cool on a wire rack for extra crispness.

Yeilds appx. 2 dozen
